The Standard Assessment Procedure is the Government’s methodology for calculating the energy performance of new build UK dwellings. It is used for every newly built domestic dwelling in the UK. It demonstrate compliance with the requirements of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) and Part L of the Building Regulations. SAP energy assessments are based on a range of factors including building construction details such as type of materials use for (Walls/ Roofs/Floors/Doors/Windows), heating systems and controls, ventilation and renewable technologies.
 
SAP Assessor will have the skills and knowledge to complete energy calculations using Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) software to produce a newly build house SAP-EPC.

Certification & License Timeline

Certification is typically achieved within 1–2 weeks after successful completion of the portfolio.

After completing the five-day OCDEA training, students are required to submit a portfolio of additional case studies to meet qualification requirements. To support timely completion, the training Centre will provide case study data.

Comprehensive guidance on completing the portfolio is included during the training, along with ongoing support via email and telephone.

The course is designed to fully prepare you to qualify as an OCDEA (SAP Assessor), enabling you to produce:

SAP compliance reports for new-build and converted dwellings (Flat Conversions)

Final SAP Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs)
