Cosy East Hampshire scheme extended
An extension to a popular home energy efficiency scheme in East Hampshire has been announced by the local authority.
The Cosy East Hampshire scheme was originally scheduled to wind up by August this year, but East Hampshire District Council has now announced the project will continue to be open to new entrants until at least March 2016.
Offering a wide variety of energy-saving improvements for local households, work undertaken as part of the initiative includes the provision of funding for the installation of solid wall insulation for suitable properties (up to 50 per cent cashback).
In addition, participants can receive grants totalling 25 per cent of the costs associated with measures like additional loft and cavity wall insulation, boiler and heating system upgrades and double glazing.
For those in receipt of certain benefits, the Cosy East Hampshire scheme will cover the full cost of having energy-saving works completed.
East Hampshire District Council portfolio holder for the environment Adam Carew told the Petersfield Post: “I’m really pleased that we’re continuing to help residents cut the amount of energy they use.
“Making your home more energy-efficient not only cuts your bills, but also reduces your home’s impact on the environment.
“If you’re thinking about making some improvements to your home, get in touch and see how much we can help.”
Offering advice on the suitability of properties for green renovation, the scheme can also help individuals to better understand the range of other grants and money-saving offers that could be available to them.
